Gerlossteinwand Alpine via ferrata

The men from Zell Mountain Rescue have put a lot of heart and soul, sweat and work into building the Gerlossteinwand via ferrata. More than 450 m of steel rope, 300 hand grips, 230 rope clamps, 150 drill anchors and much more were used.

The Alpine via ferrata in Zillertal is another tourist offer to get nature-loving, active people of all ages closer to our beautiful mountains during their summer holiday in Zillertal. Anyone can climb a via ferrata with the right equipment and correct handling: secured by a continuous steel rope from the entrance to the exit, you climb through the steep rock face on artificial handholds and stirrups combined with natural holds. Via ferratas are a continuing trend in mountain sports in the Alps and allow hikers to get a taste of the realm of the vertical.
