Cycling keeps you fit in body and mind – fresh air and exercise are the secret to wellbeing. The famous Tauern Cycle Trail (“Tauernradweg”) offers ambitious cyclists and mountain bikers plenty of variety. Running from Pinzgau in Salzburg to Germany, the Tauern Cycle Trail winds past picturesque towns and exciting attractions.
The starting point for the Tauern Cycle Trail is the holiday resort of Krimml. Right at the beginning of the route are the world-famous Krimml Waterfalls. Start your bike tour with this wonder of nature, and take the time to visit the Wasserwelten visitors’ centre. The Tauern Cycle Trail can be completed in fairly easy stages, so even less committed cyclists will enjoy the 310-kilometre route. The final destination of this great route is Passau. The first stage is from Krimml to Mittersill.
Breathing in the crisp mountain air, discovering wonderful places high up in nature, seeing the world from a different perspective – e-biking makes all this possible even for cyclists who do not have the fitness of a competitive athlete.
Looking to conserve your strength or a little less fit? You can get a “tailwind” in Krimml. Intersport Patterer and some hotels provide high-quality trekking or mountain e-bikes. So if you want to ride an e-bike into the Krimmler Achental valley, up to the Gerlosplatte area or to one of the neighbouring valleys in the National Park, you can hire one. Explore the valleys of the national park on a Kaloveo e-bike.
