Engelbert Kolland Museum
The Engelbert Museum in the garden of the parish house in Zell am Ziller is freely accessible. The entrance is from the church or parish house side. Admission is free, but there is an opportunity to leave a voluntary donation in the entrance area.
The museum building originally comes from the Styrian municipality of Rachau and was acquired by the parish of Zell am Ziller in 2009. It commemorates Saint Engelbert Kolland, whose parents lived in this house for some time.
The museum comprises four exhibition rooms. On the ground floor, there is a chapel for adoration as well as an exhibition about the life of Saint Engelbert Kolland – from his childhood in the Zillertal to his work as a priest and his martyrdom in Damascus in the year 1860, and his canonization in the year 2024.
On the upper floor, personalities of the church from the Zillertal, as well as the contemporary veneration of Saint Engelbert, are presented.
In the parish yard and in the museum, literature about Saint Engelbert is also available.
