Cattle drive in Zell am Ziller
The Almabtrieb in Zell am Ziller has a long tradition and is one of the highlights of the mountain autumn every year.
On 26th September 2026, the colourfully decorated cows are led from the alpine pastures through the village to the farms and ceremoniously welcomed back to the valley with a big Almabtrieb festival.
From approx. 10:00 am to 5:00 pm there will be a great atmosphere in the centre of Zell with a varied supporting programme and musical entertainment.
The culinary delights are well catered for
Zillertal specialities and typical Zillertal delicacies such as Zillertaler Krapfen, Kasspatzln, etc....
Farmers' market with handicrafts - demonstration of old crafts:
Basket weaving, carving, schnapps distilling and much more.
Getting there
We recommend traveling by public transportation.
Parking is available at the Zillertal Arena parking lot (P5-Karspitzbahn), with a free shuttle bus to the town center.
