Zillertal Regional Museum

During a visit to the Zillertal Regional Museum in Zell am Ziller you will learn a lot of interesting facts about our ancestors’ lives and work. Among other things, many old tools are exhibited in the “Machkammer” workroom.

“Ental” farm

“Ental” farm was built in 1713 (confirmed by the date on a ridge pole) in Burgstall/Schwendau. In 1991 it was decided to remove the farm from its original location and to rebuild it as a museum in Zell am Ziller in order to preserve and safeguard this centuries-old and culturally valuable structure.

Since the start of construction, when the museum’s foundation was rebuilt on the museum grounds, the regional museum has grown steadily: a workroom, the “Machkammer”, equipped with tools from the old days, was set up on the threshing floor.

Furthermore, a house chapel, baking oven, house well and fire hut were established and a house garden was created.
