The clear, fresh water of Durlassboden reservoir warms up to a pleasant 21 degrees in the summer months, becoming a true summer highlight. Surf or simply relax – splash about, swim, kayak or pedal boat – the choice is yours! Or why not head for the sunbathing area beside the lake? Durlassboden reservoir is home to highest-altitude surfing school in Austria (1400 m above sea level). The jetty is right at the top of the dam near the “Seestüberl” restaurant. A great hiking tip: The loop around the reservoir is a wonderful hike – and you can stop off for refreshment at Gasthof Finkau, Bärschlagalm and Seestüberl at the top of the dam.

Equipment hire at Durlaßboden reservoir is open from approx. 15th of June till the 19th of September, daily from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m (depending on weather & water level).

Fishing
Soothing peace and tranquillity combined with the fantastic mountain landscape is what makes fishing such a special experience. Fly fishing, belly boating, fishing in mountain streams or stillwater fishing – the area is large enough to have everything every amateur fisher(wo)man is looking for. Fishing permits for Durlassboden reservoir can be purchased at “Seestüberl”.
