Ski touring & snowshoeing

Want to enjoy nature away from the pistes, cross-country routes and groomed trails in the largest ski area in Zillertal? Why not try ski touring away from busy slopes or head out on a snowshoe hike? Discover untouched winter scenery, forests blanketed in white and animal tracks that disappear into the snow.

Snowshoe hike for mountain enthusiasts

This somewhat more challenging snowshoe hike takes you through the snow-covered winter landscapes of Hohe Tauern National Park.
Following the tracks of native wildlife, you will learn many interesting facts about the local fauna and flora during the cold season. A good basic level of fitness is required!

Registration: By Thursday at 09:00 a.m. at the Krimml Tourist Office, Tel. +43 6564 7239 or by email
Start: 11:30 a.m. The meeting point will be announced upon registration.
Minimum number of participants: 4 people (maximum 15 people)
Return: Approx. 4:30 p.m.
Cost: €10.00 per person with the guest card, including snowshoes. Please bring your own poles. Sturdy footwear is required.
Period: Every Thursday from 7 January 2027 to 25 March 2027

Leisurely snowshoe hike

A hiking experience just like in our grandparents’ days! This winter hike takes us through romantic meadows and mountain forests. The route depends on the snow conditions.

Registration: By 10:00 a.m. at the Krimml Tourist Office, Tel. +43 6564 7239 or by email
Participants: 4–15 people
Start: 1:15 p.m. The meeting point will be announced upon registration.
Cost: €10.00 per person with the guest card; children aged 12–15 pay €5.00. Snowshoes are included. Please bring your own poles.
Return: Approx. 4:00 p.m.
Period: Every Tuesday from 22 December 2026 to 30 March 2027
