With winter, a particularly atmospheric place awakens in the Zillertal Arena: the Fir Castle on the Rosenalm opens its doors for the first time in the cold season and welcomes all visitors with a walkable observation tower, panoramic loungers, and a punch and mulled wine stand. A place to linger, relax, and discover, which is open daily from December 21 at 12:00 PM. It becomes truly enchanting at dusk when torches, fire bowls, and thousands of lights glimmer in the fairy-tale forest. The castle is about a ten-minute walk from the exit of the Rosenalmbahn – entry is included in the mountain railway ticket.
OPENING WITH LIVE MUSIC ON 21.12.2025
On Sunday, December 21, the winter experience will be festively opened. In addition to the regular offerings, the Rohrberger Farmers' Women will provide food with sausages & sweet donuts and the Schwendau Trumpet Trio (12:00 PM – 2:30 PM) as well as Low Brass Zell (2:30 PM – 6:00 PM) will provide musical entertainment. The Rosenalmbahn operates until 6:30 PM on this day, and entry is also included in the mountain railway ticket. The illuminated Fir Castle in the evening atmosphere and the scent of mulled wine is a delightful conclusion to the fourth Advent Sunday.
