The Krimml Waterfalls are not only an impressive natural spectacle in summer. Due to the shady location, only a few rays of sunshine reach the waterfalls and beautiful ice formations are created at appropriate temperatures.
The tour begins at the tourism office in Krimml - participants receive snowshoes or crampons from the national park ranger depending on the snow conditions. After a few hundred meters, the snowshoes are put on and the regular hiking trail is left - we are now on fields and meadows dressed in their winter attire. Gently ascending, we reach spots that allow a view of Krimml and the Kitzbühel Alps. Shortly thereafter, the winter waterfalls are reached. After a short break, the tour continues along snowy paths and through wintery streets until we reach the starting point of the hike again. If there is insufficient snow cover, the tour will be conducted as a winter hike.
