19th Alpine Peace Crossing - Commemorative Hike
The dialogue forum will take place on July 4, 2026, starting at 3:00 PM at the Volksschule Krimml.
We will announce the motto and the exact program schedule at the beginning of February.
Sunday, July 5, 2026, starting at 6:00 AM:
Mourning hike
On our mourning hike, we will follow the traces of the flight from 1947
and cross the Krimmler Tauern, hiking all the way to Kasern in South Tyrol/Alto Adige.
The hike takes us through high alpine terrain up to an elevation of 2,634 m.
The actual walking time is about 8 hours. Appropriate fitness, weather protection, drinks, snacks, and hiking poles are required! Alternatively, there are also two shorter options available that are less strenuous and turn back before crossing the pass. Please note that you must choose one of the options when registering, and last-minute changes are not possible, as we need to plan the respective transfers with taxis and buses in advance.
