The Krimml Waterfalls are not only an impressive natural spectacle in summer. Due to the shady location, only a few rays of sunshine reach the waterfalls and so beautiful ice formations arise at appropriate temperatures.
The tour begins at the tourism office in Krimml – participants receive snowshoes or crampons from the national park ranger depending on the snow conditions. After just a few hundred meters, the snowshoes are put on and the usual hiking path is left behind – we are now on fields and meadows wearing their winter coat. Walking gently uphill, we reach places that offer a view of Krimml and the Kitzbühel Alps. Shortly thereafter, the winter waterfalls are reached. After a short rest, the tour continues along snowy paths and through winter roads until we return to the starting point of the hike.
If there is insufficient snow cover, the tour will be conducted as a winter hike.
