Starting from Krimml, follow the signs to the waterfall. Here you ascend the waterfall path arranged in switchbacks up to the entrance to the Krimml Achental. From the various viewing platforms you repeatedly have a breathtaking view of the rushing masses of water. Between the middle and upper waterfall tiers, the path becomes somewhat flatter. Here you briefly cross the access road leading into the Krimml Achental. Now you go up the upper waterfall tier. You have repeated great views of the waterfall and at the "dust ring" you can even feel the spray up close. In the area of the "Oberhafen" the hiking path and access road merge. From here you hike along it into the Krimml Achental - one of the most beautiful high valleys of the national park. On the way you pass some rustic alpine huts that also invite you to stop for refreshment. At an altitude of 1,631 m you reach the historic Krimmler Tauernhaus, where among other things you find the oldest inn of Oberpinzgau.
