Winter adventure Fichtenwelt

The spruce forest offers you an atmospheric winter experience combining nature and sparkling lights. The illuminated spruce castle with its observation tower and bridge forms the shining centrepiece, while the winter hiking trail around Lake Fichtensee invites you to take a peaceful, easy walk through the snow-covered landscape. A short trip full of atmosphere, enjoyment and winter magic.

Fichtenschloss

A particularly atmospheric place awaits you at the Rosenalm this winter: the Fichtenschloss opens its doors from 21st December 2025 even in the cold season and is accessible during the Rosenalmbahn's operating hours. From the mountain station of the cable car, you can reach the castle in about ten minutes on foot. The observation tower and the castle bridge are fully accessible and offer impressive views over the snow-covered landscape of the Zillertal Arena.

Comfortable sun loungers invite you to relax – whether you are on foot or gliding over directly from the slopes. Crackling fire pits provide cosy warmth while you treat yourself to a fragrant mulled wine or warming punch, available daily from 12 noon directly at the castle square.

The lovingly designed Christmas lights bathe the Fichtenschloss in a fairytale atmosphere, perfect for a short break or a long moment of enjoyment. Here you will find a place to take a deep breath, marvel and dream – a magical winter wonderland that will make your day in the Zillertal Arena unforgettable.

An atmospheric winter hiking trail awaits you around Lake Fichtensee, perfectly rounding off your experience at the Rosenalm. The easy circular trail is ideal for families and anyone who wants to discover the peaceful side of the winter mountains. Even though the lake is empty in winter, the wide, open area and the surrounding landscape offer an impressive backdrop and beautiful views at every turn.

The peaceful atmosphere makes this trail a pleasant, relaxing walk that can be wonderfully combined with a visit to Fichtenschloss – an uncomplicated nature experience that lets you feel the magic of winter up close.

Description

Kleine familienfreundliche Wanderung zum und um den Fichtensee.

Die ca. 1-stündige (Hin- & Rückweg) einfache Wanderung startet direkt bei der Bergstation der Rosenalmbahn und führt unterhalb des Babylifts ein kurzes Stück bergab, ehe man rechts die Liftspur vom Plattenanger 2 quert. Dabei ist besondere Vorsicht und Rücksichtnahme auf die ankommenden Schleppliftbenützer geboten. Nach ca. 200 m biegt man an der Abzweigung links ab und folgt dem Weg bis zum Fichtensee. Am Fichtensee angekommen, kann man noch rundherum um den Speicherteich schlendern und die besondere winterliche Atmosphäre genießen. Zurück zur Bergstation geht es auf dem gleichen Weg.
