The Krimml Achen valley, arguably the most beautiful high valley of the Hohe Tauern National Park, lies above the largest waterfalls in Europe and is a magnificent area for all nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts tanks to its lush green alpine pastures and the softly rippling Krimml Ache. At the end of the waterfall path, you will reach the entrance to the idyllic Achen valley at the upper Achenfall. From there, hiking trail no. 519 leads along the Krimml Ache, passing rich Alpine meadows to various rustic rest points, like the Veiten Alm (1.578m), Hölzlahner Alm (1.583m) and Sölln Alm (1.560m). You are bound to meet plenty of cows, horses, sheep and goats on your hike, which enjoy the tasty mountain herbs of the Alpine meadows. Once you reach the Krimml Tauernhaus (1.631m) numerous culinary specialities from the region await you at the oldest restaurant in Upper Pinzgau.
