News & Infos summer 2019
As the saying goes, if you don’t go forward, you go backwards - which is exactly why the Arena mountain lift company is most certainly not resting on its laurels, but rather it has numerous plans for the next summer 2019: some eagerly awaited projects will be realised which will not only represent milestones in the development of products and services in the Zillertal Arena, but which are also set to create positive momentum for the entire region.
SPRUCE LAKE ON THE ROSENALM The spruce sprites are expanding their habitat and spreading to the new Rosenalm reservoir - that will become Spruce Lake! The cosy, buggy-friendly ‘Alm walk’ links the Spruce Tree Castle with Spruce Lake and the Rosenalmbahn mountain station. Next to the very popular Spruce Tree Castle, a new attraction will appear in summer 2019 that will excite more than just the kids! With floating jetties, boat rental, pleasure spots, a ‘Pixie Cove’ (shallow area) for the little ones, a dam path, a floating island and much more, the new bathing lake on the Rosenalm has all the water fun you could desire!
A basic offering will be in place in summer 2019, before it really comes into its own in summer 2020. The Spruce Lake on the Rosenalm is the ideal place to improve the wood-lake-balance!
ZELL LEISURE PARK - ADVENTURE GOLF & GOLD MINING PLAYGROUND The Zell am Ziller leisure park was completely redesigned in the summer of 2018. In an area comprising over 45,000 m² you can find all the fun activities for people of all ages that you can imagine: Outdoor pool with sports pool, water vortex, giant slide and children's pool and indoor and outdoor tennis courts, as well as a bowling alley, beach volleyball facilities, adventure golf "The treasures of the Zillertal" (the only one in West Austria), large adventure playground, football pitch and Fun Court (volleyball, streetball and basketball), bouldering tower, ice skating rink etc.
SUMMER ATTRACTION ON THE ISSKOGEL There’s new fun for the whole family at the top Isskogel cable car station: children's dreams come true on two 150-metre long wooden ball tracks. The little ones will watch with fascination as the wooden balls overcome a variety of challenges on their way to the end. Funnels, spirals, a wave track and a labyrinth are just a few. Boredom is impossible! The ball track is for free; balls can be purchased for just €2. The balls are available at the Arena Centre at the Isskogel mountain station and can then be taken home as a souvenir. Those who are more active should look no further than the new adventure climbing route at the top station! See who’ll be the quickest up the varied route made up of different climbing elements. Opening times depend on the Gerlos cable car.
AUSTRIA'S LONGEST ROPE BRIDGE ON A VIA FERRATA Austria's longest rope bridge on a via ferrata was constructed in the Riederklamm adventure garden in the summer of 2018. This has given the adventure garden yet another great feature that will appeal even more to lots of climbing fans.
From summer 2019, there is a new attraction at the Königsleiten reservoir. The mythical Kröndlwurm experience awaits guests young and old, with numerous activities such as a wooden ball track and a natural playground with climbing course. The mythical Kröndlwurm experience is for free. Balls for the wooden ball track can be purchased from a machine, at the cash desk or in the restaurant at the valley and mountain station. The balls can also be used on the wooden ball track in Gerlos. Opening times depend on the Königsleiten cable car.
