Eine Wanderung zum Ursprung der Salzach, dem Hauptfluss des Landes Salzburg entlang des Quellenweges.
Entlang der verschiedenen Stationen wird Interessantes rundum das Thema „Wasser“ erklärt und dem Wanderer nähergebracht. Zum Beispiel geben die Infotafeln Informationen zur Bedeutung, Wasserbeschaffenheit und Kreislauf des Wassers.
Die Salzach ist der Hauptfluss unseres Bundeslandes. Die Wanderung führt zum 2.466 m hoch gelegenen Salzachgeier, von wo aus wir die Salzachquellen sehen können. Los geht's ab dem Schranken Eingang Salzachtal bis zur Salzachhütte und weiter zur Salzachalm. Von dort geht's weiter entlang des Weges zum Markkirchl (1.983 m), einer kleinen Kapelle die sich direkt an der Landesgrenze zwischen Tirol und Salzburg befindet.
Zum Salzachgeier geht's schon vorher links ab, entlang des Quellenweges hoch hinauf zur Salzachquelle und weiter zum Salzachgeier. Ein traumhafter Panoramablick entschädigt für die Mühen des Anstieges!
Einkehr ist in der Salzachhütte möglich - die Wirtsleute versorgen Sie mit heimischen Produkten!
