See, feel, smell, taste and hear – the ‘mountain experience’ is brought to all the senses in a simple and relaxed way. Discover the forest and its mysteries, marvel at the ‘mountain sounds’ and come closer to the many stories about nature from the display boards and other attractions along the paths!

 

Theme Trail "Holzweg" (Zellberg) Experience the forest habitat with all of its many facets!
From the starting point at the Ziller bridge, near the Huber car showroom, follow the signs to the fork in the path (numbers 4 and 5). The exciting path leads past the Chapel of Saint Joseph, along the crossroad until you reach the restaurant Schulhaus. Along the trail you can explore the different bird calls, find out interesting facts about forest utilisation and catch a glimpse of the great view above the treetops. The trail continues to the Herz-Jesu-Kapelle (Church of the Sacred Heart) onto trail no. 4 following the road for a short while heading into the valley. Passing through a dense forest, you will head back via the “Eugenpromenade” to the Chapel of Saint Joseph and back to the starting point. Discover the alpine flora and fauna and consciously observe nature on
the Holzweg.

After the comfortable mountain journey with the Rosenalm cable car in Zell am Ziller you will arrive at the starting point of the approximately one hour hike from Rosenalm to Schmankerlhütte Kreuzwiesenalm. The light hiking trail no. 11 leads past fragrant forests and green mountain pastures to the romantically situated lodge with a magnificent view of the Zillertal mountain landscape. Throughout the whole trail you will learn many interesting things about the culinary delicacies of the Zillertal – lovingly provided by the boards along the path – making your anticipation of stopping and trying out these specialities even greater! And that’s not all: So that you can continue to enjoy the treats from the Kreuzwiesenalm and other stop-off points after your holiday,
we have prepared a little recipe book for you to cook up some treats at home. The Schmankerlweg is the ideal trail for connoisseurs both young and old! You can head back on the same path or you can change onto hiking trail no. 12 a, approximately 2.5 hours after you reach Gerlosberg, and then head onto Zell.

This easy trail leads in 20 minutes from Rosenalm to Kreithütte. Great views of Tuxer and Zillertal Alps. Boards inform about the names of mountains as well as other surrounding outing destination. Take a rest in the cozy Kreithütte. The same way back to the starting point.

The Nordic Walking Trail starts at the Rosenalmbahn/Zillertal Arena top station, at 1.744 m, and leads to Simon's Bergstadl and to the Kreuzjochhütte at 1.905 m, where you can enjoy the sweeping panorama of the Alps and strengthen yourself with food and drink (round trip: 5,4 km). A Power Trail leads on a winding road up to 2.065 m to the panoramic place (round trip: 2,6 km, altitude: 160 m). The panels, designed in the form of oversized Nordic Walking sticks show the correct warm-up, technique, relaxation exercises, and much more!

From the center of town along the Gerlosstraße to the Gasthof Waldheim. Take trail no. 8 to your right and walk along the Stations of the Cross to Maria Rast, one of the loop trail's most scenic spots. Continue via the creamery, the Zillertal gold mine and the old school to the district of Dörfl. Once there the steepest section of the trail is over. Follow an old cart track to Brigittenstein, another highlight of this hike. Return via Wischberg to the trail head.
