Von Krimml startend führt der Weg etwas oberhalb der WasserWelten über den Blaubach und bald danach über die Gerlos Alpenstraße. Nun geht es steil durch den Wald bergauf. Der Weg führt am kleinen Seebach entlang, bis sich der Wald lichtet und man zur unbewirtschafteten Seekar Alm gelangt. In diesem Bereich der Tour wird man mit einem tollen Ausblick auf Krimml und das Salzachtal belohnt. Das letzte Stück zum Seekarsee steigt man über einige vom Gletscher geformte Steinplatten. An heißen Tagen bietet der klare Hochgebirgssee eine willkommene Abkühlung. Da es auf dieser Tour keine Einkehrmöglichkeit gibt, soll man unbedingt genügend Getränke und Jause einpacken.
