Dear guests of the Zillertal Arena,

we are all very much looking forward to welcoming you back to the Zillertal Arena in the coming winter and assure you that we will do everything we can to ensure you have a relaxing time and a "safe" holiday with us according to the motto "Happy & Safe". The coming winter raises many questions for all of us, which we are of course all happy to answer. We have summarised the most important information, guidelines and planned measures concerning COVID-19 in the ski region, in the ski school, in the gastronomy establishment/ski hut/après ski and in the accommodation establishment.

To begin with, here are the most important measures and rules that we should all always observe:

Wear a mouth-nose mask.

Keep sufficient distance from strangers.

Ensure ventilation of the gondola cabin during the ride.

Pay attention to hand hygiene.

Stay at home if you show signs of illness.

Always observe general hygiene rules.

Contactless payment if possible
& use our online ski ticket shop

Personal responsibility for you
& your family.

Observe signs & instructions of the employees.

Dispose of used tissues and (non-washable) masks.

Do not leave your mouth-nose mask in the gondola cabin.

Sneeze or cough into your bent arm or into a handkerchief.

Safety in the ski region

COVID-19 Code of Conduct Zillertal Cable Cars

Dear winter sports fans!

Big changes have shaped the last months - COVID-19 influences our life worldwide. The safety and the health of each individual person are the focus of attention even more than before – also in the thinking and actions of our cable car company. Our regulations are based on those of the Austrian Federal Government, which provide for a range of measures to protect all guests and employees.

According to the current regulations of the Austrian Federal Government, cable cars are covered by the rules for public transport. A safety distance of 1 metre must always be maintained, but may be undercut if there is a heavy rush. Wherever the 1 metre distance cannot be maintained, a face mask (German: MNS) must be worn. This also applies to all queuing areas and the cash desk area. A face mask must always be worn in the cable car cabins, on the lift chairs and on the drag lift (double bar).

In compliance with the currently valid regulations and additional safety measures, we are firmly convinced that you can spend relaxing and safe winter days in the Zillertal with 180 cable cars and lifts and 542 kilometres of slopes with sufficient safety distance!

General information and organisational measures of the Zillertal cable cars for your safe and relaxing vacation:

  • SIGNPOST AND INFORMATION POINTS IN THE SKI REGION:
These draw your attention to our code of conduct at the cable cars and throughout the ski region.
  • FACE MASK (MNS):
The wearing of a face mask is mandatory in the areas marked accordingly (see also below). In addition to the conventional mouth-nose masks, multifunctional cloths, ski masks, bandanas, buffs, loop scarves, etc. are also considered face masks according to current regulations. It is important that your mouth and nose are completely covered, thus avoiding the spread of droplets when speaking, coughing and sneezing. In all cable car ticket offices of the Zillertal Arena you will receive your personalised Zillertal Arena multifunctional scarf.
  • ORGANISED QUEUING AREAS:
We organise the queuing areas independently of the current legal requirements in such a way that groups of people standing closely together are avoided as far as possible. Please keep a sufficient distance to strangers and wait in the cash desk area until the guest in front of you has left the cash desk.
  • HAND HYGIENE:
For our cable car systems in the indoor area we install sufficient hand disinfection facilities for you.
  • NUMBER OF PERSONS:
A reduction of the maximum number of persons permitted in the cable cars or chair lifts is not legally binding, but we refrain from exploiting the permitted capacities if the number of passengers is correspondingly low. A face mask must always be worn in the cable car cabins, on the lift chairs and on the drag lift (double bar).
  • DISINFECTION MEASRUES:
All closed operating facilities (gondolas) are disinfected several times a day by means of cold atomisation. Disinfection measures are also regularly carried out in elevator cabins, escalators, sanitary facilities, ski depots and first aid rooms.
  • EMPLOYEES OF THE CABLE CARS:
COVID-19 test: Employees are tested on Covid-19 before they start working for the first time. For those who are in contact with customers, follow-up tests are carried out on a regular basis or as required. Employees are instructed to wear a face mask in direct contact with guests for mutual protection.

What you can do to help the situation for yourself and others:

  • USE OFF-PEAK TIMES:
Take advantage of the off-peak times with minimal crowding to get to the ski region and back to your accommodation in a relaxed manner: all Zillertal cable cars offer early start times to get to the ski region relaxed before the main rush. You can also choose off-peak times for your return trip to the valley. So you can also benefit from a relaxed journey in our free ski buses.
  • WEAR A FACE MASK:
Please always carry a face mask with you and use it if the prescribed minimum distance to other people cannot be maintained. In these areas the wearing of a face mask (protective mask, tubular scarf, multifunctional scarf...) is obligatory: at the ski pass sales points of the cable cars, in the access area for all cable cars (pay attention to the marking), in the station, entry/exit area as well as during the ride on the cable cars (gondolas, chair lifts, drag lifts), when using the conveyor belts (training area), using the WC facilities, in the ski shop / ski depot, on the ski bus, in mountain gastronomy in accordance with the specifications listed below:
  • KEEP YOUR DISTANCE:
Please keep sufficient distance from other people outside your household. If possible, the minimum distance must also be maintained in the cable car gondolas.
  • ENSURE VENTILATION:
If necessary, please ventilate the cable car cabins during the trip.
  • PAY ATTENTION TO HAND HYGIENE:
Please observe the general rules of hygiene and wash your hands regularly. Disinfectant dispensers are available in the cable car stations in the indoor area.
  • DISPOSE OF USED FACE MASKS:
Please do not leave your used face mask or tissues in the cable car gondolas, but dispose of them properly. Waste bins are available in the station areas.

Please follow the recommendations for conduct and also the instructions of our employees, especially with regard to the applicable hygiene regulations.
