Guided tour through the combined biomass heat and power plant
Senses of wood. The visitors not only have the opportunity to take a look at the fascinating technical equipment of the most modern and economic combined biomass heat and power plant, they are asked to sharpen their senses again on wood, the omnipresent product of nature, on the trail of senses. The PLATZ (forecourt) designed by Lois and Franziska Weinberger leads into the reception hall, where visitors receive a video-guide- offered in six languages – and start the guided tour through the combined biomass heat and power plant.
The presentation of the film HolzLeben (life of wood) in the cinema is followed by an innovative and instructive exhibition of the history of wood. After these cultural inputs and experience, visitors reach the centre of the technical section. The way leads from the impressive hall with generator and turbine to the boiler section. In the sector where the purification of used air takes place, 16 screens inform the visitors about carbon dioxide emissions and climate change. The tour moves on into the section where pellets are produced and silo. At the end of the guided tour the fascinating roof garden, high up in 16 metres, offers an impressive 360° panoramic view.
