Zillertal Bike Challenge 2013
3 days, 2 categories, 1 race! The Zillertal Bike Challenge is a unique stage race standig out against other races of this kind in many aspects. The starting shot for the 5th Zillertal Bike Challenge will be fired on 5 July 2013 in Fügen. Following the sensational success of recent years, the 3-day stage race has secured itself a permanent place in the calender of professional and hobby cyclists as the hardest bike race in the Alps! From the start in Fügen, wide mountain roads as well as steep, Alpine logging roads take the riders via Zell-Gerlos, Mayrhofen-Hippach and Tux-Finkenberg to the finish line on the eternal ice of the Hintertuxer glacier. The participants are also appropriately rewarded for their efforts!
The participants can choose between two categories: The category “King of the Mountain” and “Queen of the Mountain” covers more than 10,000 altimeters and about 200 km.
Participants in the category “Prince of the Mountain” and “Princess of the Mountain” are allowed to use the help of lifts which shortens the distance by 5,000 altimeters; However, they use the same route as the participants in the categories “King” and “Queen of the Mountain”.
